Position Summary:
As a leader of the Medivo Editorial team, the Medical Editor supports Medivo?s Editorial strategy, calendaring, and spectrum of content across various medical specialties and conditions, for both healthcare professional and consumer audiences. All Editorial efforts are based on Medivo?s unique insights into clinical data sets. The content developed by the Editorial team includes a balanced combination of medical, consumer, & life science company perspectives.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop (research & write) physician- and patient-targeted clinical insights, strategically packaging clinical datasets in visually compelling and highly interactive presentations
Develop and editorial calendar to deliver editorial content for Medivo users
Partner with Medivo medical affairs, product, IT, creative and marketing staff to analyze clinical datasets to identify relevant messages to drive audience uptake and interest
Build and manage a team of writers to deliver on editorial calendar for patients and providers
Develop and implement peer-reviewed publication and medical society presentation strategy using Medivo?s datasets to demonstrate clinical impact
Use Google Documents/email/Calendar, Webex, Powerpoint, Excel to manage daily internal and external workflow, communications, & reporting
Requirements:
Excellent medical writing ability (using electronic writing / editing)
Minimum 5 years medical writing experience to a physician audience, for promotional, CME, online, or journal purposes
Top-notch collaborator with thought leaders for developing clinical information programs. A relationship builder.
Ability to identify, use, and reference primary sources for creation of copy with a focus on clinical datasets with trends in conditions across demographics, geographies, lab results & diagnostic codes, CMS data, in addition to Medivo?s own internal clinical datasets
Understanding of characteristics of various physician and patient target audiences: concerns, sensitivities, challenges to practice, especially as they relate to communicating with these groups
Successful when working as part of a cross-functional team
Education and Experience:
Minimum Bachelor's degree, advanced healthcare degree, e.g. PharmD, PhD, MD or RN a plus
7-9 year successful track record developing medical content and managing medical experts in a medical education, promotion, or advertising agency whose clients are life science companies
Extensive healthcare professional interactions and success in delivering highly engaging medical materials to a diverse set of providers and patients across many conditions
