We are seeking a Full-Time Medical Records Associate for our Indy North Center. The hours for this position will be Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. ? 5:00 p.m. This position could also have the possibility to be two Part-Time positions.
This position works to ensure all record requests from patients, referring physicians, attorneys, internal departments, etc., are fulfilled in an appropriate manner; all patient records are accurately filed; and also ensure that all outgoing shipping is completed accurately and on time.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
Creates a positive experience for every customer, every day by believing in and practicing the CDI Experience
Ensures that all incoming and outgoing film and medical report requests are processed on a daily basis
Distributes the reports to the various interoffice locations (Billing Office, study files, etc.)
Prepares the daily duplicates and reports for delivery by the various courier services
Files and organizes the courier lists of outgoing films and reports
Ships all other items leaving clinic using preferred shipper as needed
Ensures accurate and timely filing of patient medical reports and films and retrieval of same
Pulls duplicate films and deliver them to technologists for duplicating in a timely fashion throughout the day
Finds and retrieves outside films for doctors, technologists, and research
Communicates with referring physician offices by giving them verbal reports of transcribed medical reports
Communicates with attorney and insurance companies regarding patients
Communicates with patients to ensure they receive the records they have requested
Follows all HIPAA guidelines for release of information

Ability to effectively handle and prioritize multiple tasks, frequent interruptions, and details with accuracy
Ability to maintain regular attendance and on-time arrival to work as scheduled
Ability to deliver high quality customer service to external and internal customers by communicating with knowledge and compassion
Ability to resolve basic service recovery issues and understand when to escalate to next level
Skill in organizing and prioritizing of work, and following assignments through to completion
Skill in written and verbal communication
Knowledge of and adherence to company policies and protocols
Knowledge of and adherence to HIPAA and safety guidelines
High school degree or equivalent
Previous medical records experience preferred
Minimum 1 year Microsoft Office experience
Data entry experience
Ability to speak Spanish or bilingual a plus
Ability to type 30 wpm
