Basic PurposeThe medical science liaison (MSL) is responsible for bringing the latest research and knowledge of the
Saladax products and technology to the practice of oncology and other target audiences for Saladax. The
MSL is a primary interface between the company and the scientific and medical community. The MSL
helps devise tools, protocols, and programs to educate the people providing care to link the clinical utility
of Saladax products to the practice of medical oncology with the objective of reducing the amount of time it
takes to build awareness and adoption of Saladax products. The MSL also provides feedback from the
medical community to ensure that the Company is addressing the concerns and needs of the target
audience in their product, data and service offerings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
50% Clinical Knowledge: Oncology drugs and in-vitro diagnostics
? Delivers clinical and scientific presentations to healthcare practitioners.
? Researches new information, actively participates in literature management program, and
determines how new and existing information can be utilized with customers.
? Identifies national/regional thought leaders in medical oncology specialized in the use of cancer
drugs for which Saladax offers MyCare assays and establishes/ maintains scientific relationships
with them.
? Acts as primary liaison to investigators interested in developing and performing studies with the
company?s commercially available assays via the Saladax CLIA laboratory.

Provides scientific and medical updates/presentations in local reimbursement discussions.
?
Provides scientific support at medical congresses.
?
Provides scientific support for appropriate educational initiatives.
? Provides feedback and medical input to local commercial plans and strategies.
? Participates in the development and review of professional slide sets, medical letters, clinical
summaries and sales materials.
? Actively facilitates Speaker Trainings and KOL meetings.
? Actively participates in meetings with relevant national organizations on behalf of Saladax, such as
ASCO, oncology specialties and pathology-related groups, by giving scientific presentations,
meeting with potential collaborators, and giving feedback to the organization about novel clinical
developments.
? Assures compliance with relevant corporate and regulatory guidelines.
15% Research Studies:
? Assesses KOL?s ability to conduct studies.
? Leads the clinical trial initiative (including sponsored and investigator initiated trials).
? Works closely with both cancer experts and practicing oncologists on clinical trial design and
protocol outline development.
? Brings forth research ideas from KOL?s.? Progresses approved studies final manuscript publication.
? Enhances and bridges communication and progress of collaborative studies between investigators
and Saladax.

20% Training and Support:
? Provides clinical information to health care providers (remote and in-person).
? Responds to sales team requests for information or client support.
? Assists in the development and communication of new clinical evidence-based information to
providers and payors.
? Identifies KOLs and thought leaders and assists in the development of ongoing communication to
both.
? Proactively identifies clinical needs of sales teams and provides remote or in-person education.
? Recognizes and communicates emerging national trends relevant to our products and disseminates
knowledge appropriately.
? Develops tools for and assists educational efforts (for sales meetings presentations or national
update).
15% Organizational Interactions:
? Functions as resource and active participant for commercial development and launch of MyCare
products.
? Attends and supports Sales Team Meetings, as needed based on priority.
? Collaborates with Marketing and professional support teams on development and review of
marketing materials, slide sets and other collateral for research and clinical launches.
? Collaborates with Marketing on speaker trainings, regional advisory boards and ongoing sales
material.
? Assists in the identification and support of investigators and sites for company clinical trials.
Essential Education, Skills, and Environment
Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Minimum education and experience requirements:
? PhD, Pharm D, MD, RN or MSN, with a specialty in cancer.
? Existing relationships with thought leading cancer researchers and clinicians.
? Deep understanding of the treatment of early and late stage cancer
? A minimum of one year post-graduate clinical experience.
? Advanced training and/or experience in clinical cancer care.
? Previous experience in Medical Affairs role is ideal.
Personal Attribute:
Because the MSL acts as a consultant for our scientific and medical audiences, candidates must have
superior interpersonal skills, including the ability to create and sustain relationships with industry
leaders.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
Will require frequent travel; 3-4 days per week and occasional weekends for conferences / meetings.
