Merrimack applies Network Biology, its proprietary systems biology-based approach to biomedical research, throughout the research and development process. Merrimack currently has six targeted therapeutic oncology candidates in clinical development.
We are looking for a highly-motivated medicinal chemist to join our discovery efforts and work in the area of infectious diseases. Within the discovery efforts we strive to rationally identify targets driving disease and rapidly prototype novel therapeutic ideas computationally and experimentally while advancing our Network Biology research platform in oncology and immunology. The major responsibilities of the role will include the design, synthesis, purification and characterization of novel chemical small molecule drugs.

These scientists will include biologists, formulation scientists, pharmacologists and a variety of personnel in Research Discovery.
PhD in organic or medicinal chemistry
Proficient in identifying structure activity relationships (SAR) to address lead optimization, potency, selectivity, pharmacokinetics, formulation suitability, and in vivo efficacy
Must be able to engage colleagues in cross-disciplinary scientific discussion, write about their own work, and collaborate within and across multidisciplinary teams
