The Member of Technical Staff (MTS) in this role will work closely with architects and senior developers to enhance accuracy, performance, capacity, and functionality for all circuit analyses. The MTS will also work with application engineers to productize new capabilities and debug difficult issues. A successful candidate will have strong software and algorithms background, preferably in the domain of Electronic Design Automation (EDA).
Develop new and compatibility features for the AFS circuit simulator.
Enhance core circuit simulator for performance, accuracy, and capacity.
Profile and identify bottlenecks in performance for various analyses and classes of circuits.
Help improve numerical algorithms used in the core engine.
Debug testcases with accuracy, performance, capacity, or functional issues.
Help senior developers/architects to extend/maintain AFS circuit simulator capabilities.
0-5 year work experience in developing software, preferably in EDA domain.
Basic knowledge of analog circuits containing diode, bipolar, and MOS devices.
Outstanding programming skills in C/C++; preferably using Linux environments.
Knowledge of high-performance data structures and algorithms.
Self-motivated individual with excellent problem solving skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Minimum Bachelor?s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
Knowledge of numerical methods and sparse matrix techniques.
Understanding of the internal workings of a circuit simulator.
Familiarity Verilog-A and/or Verilog-AMS.
Knowledge of various multithreading techniques (e.g., OpenMP and pThreads).
Experience with RF simulation and analyses.
Understanding of analog/mixed-signal circuits and/or device models.
