This rare opportunity to join one of the region's fastest growing e-tailers, where merchandise planning is at the heart of the business. Reporting to the VP of Finance, you will work with the buyer in forecasting trends for infant and juvenile merchandise. You will be involved in reviewing merchandise selections, product profitability and open to buy management. Plans and forecasts for future merchandise buys based on historical buys, reoccurring buys and current inventory levels. Responsible for reviewing stock to sales ratios, responding to changing sales trends, and ensuring plan sales, plan markups, and plan markdowns are achieved by departments.
Require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and 3-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
Additonal Job Responsibilities
- Developing sales and inventory unit and dollar plans by location and department to maximize sales and turn
- Review order requirements based on OTB working with the Merchandise Planner to support product team with item planning
- Allocation strategy of products
- Maintain stock health of items
- Meet the required stock level for best selling items
- Reduce slow moving items and obsolete stocks
- Manage and develop assistant planner to submit meaningful and analytical sales and inventory reports
- Achieve sales targets
- Propose promotions
- Undertakes special projects/studies, to improve system, workflow, information dissemination and facilitate transmittal of documents
- Retail experience in a similar role
- Excellent retail math acumen: gross, net and operating margin mix and planning; budgets and allocations; inventory productivity measures; weeks of supply on hand; economic order quantity
- Strong business, financial, forecasting and analytical skills
- Excellent computing skills
- Ability to communicate, negotiate and influence management effectively across the organization
- Present ideas effectively; strong communicator in a variety of presentation situations, including to a large audience and the executive team
- Self-motivated individual that thrives in entrepreneurial settings
