About the Role:
The Online Merchandiser role is responsible for sourcing and creating daily deals for Whale Shark's web sites. This position requires the ability to quickly become a category/product expert in order to create optimal content. Prior experience working in technology categories is required. Experience can include on line merchandising, buying or sales. The Merchandiser will be accountable for achieving specific KPIs and be able to identify deals that generate traffic and sales. Ideal candidate will have 2+ years experience in e-commerce marketing or merchandising.
Responsibilities
Source and create deal offers from various online merchants
Review, validate and edit new and existing content
Use key metrics reporting to analyze and optimize deal performance
Research competitor and merchant sites to ensure selection of best price deals
Work directly with account management team to support negotiations for exclusive deals and improved offers
Optimize work-flow process to generate targeted number of daily deals
Special projects as needed
Requirements:
Can spot a good deal from 50 feet and love saving money for yourself and others
2+ years experience in e-commerce marketing or merchandising preferred. Technology category experience required (computers, electronics, wireless, etc).
Ability to prioritize daily demands and produce consistent, quality work on time
Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail
Comfortable with high volumes of data entry and/or processing
Self motivated and enjoys working in a results driven team environment
Proficient in MS Word, Excel and basic HTML
Bachelor's degree required
