About the Job:
Twilio is seeking a senior QA engineer to validate our Messaging API stack and ensure its functionality, quality and performance and availability.
We are looking for a dev-QA... A development-minded seasoned QA engineer.
Develop test strategy and test plans for Twilio's messaging APIs.
Develop automated test harness to conduct tests and collect metrics.
Execution of Functional, Performance, and failover testing for Twilio's messaging API services.
Analysis of test results and collaboration with developers to verify changes.
5+ years of professional software development experience in QA, with at least 2+ years testing cloud based or SaaS applications.
Good understanding of TCIP/IP, HTTP and messaging protocols such as SMPP, MM7/SOAP and XMPP.
Programming background in scripting languages Python/Ruby/Perl/...
Java experience desired but not required.
Deep experience testing disributed systems.
Knowledge of relational databases.
Knowledge of and experience using load testing tools, preferably open source.
Passion for software quality. Ability to work closely on small, close-knit teams using Agile tools. Respond fast to changes. Get things done. You are a DOer.
Strong communication skills. Experience standing in front of non-technical audiences and explaining technical issues.
