Role Description
The ServiceSource Manager of Revenue Recognition and Revenue Accounting will be responsible for providing deal structuring guidance based on technical expertise in SAB104, ASU2009-13 and other applicable revenue recognition guidance into consideration as required. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator, a versatile business partner with strong business acumen, coupled with exceptional technical strength that can provide proactive guidance and leadership on deal structuring and project management.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with Outside Sale, Solution Design and the Corporate Legal teams for contract negotiation through participating in discussions, reviewing draft contracts, and providing recommendations for recognition in accordance with relevant accounting literature and ServiceSource?s Revenue Recognition Policy.
Document revenue contracts and related revenue accounting treatment under current revenue recognition rules.
Evaluate rev rec treatment by preparing a rev rec checklist for each contract or amendment.
Publish accounting memo as necessary to document the Company?s accounting positions
Work actively with external auditors to ensure that revenue recognition interpretations are consistent and compliant with GAAP.
Responsible for Review of monthly close on revenue accounting to ensure proper accrual or deferral of revenue as appropriate.
Work with Solution team FP&A manager to ensure proper recognition of the Solution Team?s revenue and cost
Prime owner of Revenue Cycle SOX process and control testing and compliance
Project Manage ?Drive processes and automation of the implementation of BESP analysis as applicable.
Support external SEC reporting as required
Ad-hoc Reporting and Analytics as well as other process and control improvement as required
Provide revenue recognition guidance & training to various teams at Service Source during the year
Lead the OTC revenue related system implementation of WorkDay and a PSA system during the year
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be a CPA, with strong analytical, business partnering, and interpersonal skills. Strong business acumen and the ability to influence change through written and verbal communications are imperative. Results oriented. Strong attention to details.
CPA required, BA in Accounting or Related Majors
7 - 12 years progressive experience plus relevant managerial roles, Big 4 a plus
Stronger technical Revenue Recognition experience, specifically ASC 985-605, ASC 605-25, EITF 01-09, EITF99-19, SAB 104, ASU2009-13.
