We currently seek a talented Manager, Software Engineering in our Cambridge, MA office.
Purpose:
Software development leader and motivator who owns and drives technical projects and provides leadership for groups of software developers in an innovative, productive and collaborative environment. They are responsible for the overall planning, execution, and success of complex technical projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
Overall management of complex technical projects and teams to deliver high quality, milestone driven software releases
Provide transparency to the team and management on project status, milestones and deliverables
Identify project risks and provide mitigation plan to prevent/resolve risk
Utilize metrics to manage development process, communicate project progress and monitor process improvements
Hire, mentor and grow passionate individuals who work well in strong teams
Strong leader capable of motivating the very best software developers, as well as gaining their respect
Work closely with Software Quality Assurance through strong matrix management to coordinate Development and Testing to enable a timely, quality release
Author and own project software management plans and project schedules
Support and contribute to the software development process SOP
Qualifications
B.S. / M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent
Proven track record leading successful software teams
10+ years of industry experience with 5+ years in a management role
Familiarity with a broad mix of technologies including a strong subset of: Java,, JSP, JBoss, HTML, XML, Spring, UI frameworks, Oracle, SOA, Web Services, Windows, Linux, and a range of open source libraries
Desirable: SaaS experience and a track record of design and implementation for scaling large systems
