Summary: The Microsoft Business Development Manager will play a vital role in the organization by accelerating Proofpoint?s and Microsoft?s momentum with a winning security value proposition for customers moving to Office 365 in the cloud.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities:
Reporting into the EVP of Sales, this leader will work with sales and product marketing to sell solutions to protect and prove the efficacy of the Proofpoint suite of solutions to compliment and improve the capabilities of Microsoft Office 365, FOPE and EOP for regulated customers focused on security, compliance and archiving to accelerate Microsoft?s success.
Working with sales and product management, this leader will work with key product management leaders in Microsoft and Proofpoint to align our two product roadmaps to accelerate Microsoft?s move to Office 365, by removing any security obstacles for customers with high compliance requirements, to include healthcare, finance and retail clients.
This leader will work to align sales and marketing go-to-market strategies for Microsoft and Proofpoint to increase our joint engagement in accelerating customers move to Office 365.
Demonstrated skills to create and prepare complex alliance proposals and go-to-market agreements, to include presentations and negotiating large scale projects.
Strong attention to detail, to include project management of status reports, activity, follow-up, closings, and adherence to key performance indicators and revenue targets
5+ years? experience with Microsoft Business Development, Consulting, Software Sales, and/or Alliances.
Experience working with security products.
Demonstrated experience establishing sales strategies and selling to an annual sales forecast.
Demonstrated experience managing proposal efforts, as well as ability to write proficiently to outline and effectively market Company capabilities
Demonstrated working knowledge of marketing techniques and financial principles
Excellent organization, prioritization and time management skills and the ability to master complex systems and topics quickly
Ability to successfully use consultative sales approaches
Demonstrated effective group presentation skills
Proven experience successfully managing multiple tasks and meeting defined deadlines
Proven ability to prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently, set goals and objectives and develop realistic action plans
Ability to travel to client locations in a timely manner
