We have an immediate opportunity for a Microsoft SharePoint Administrator in the Southwest (Los Angeles) or Northwest (Bay Area).
FusionStorm is Microsoft Gold Certified Partner who delivers a variety IT solutions to mid-market and enterprise customers. We offer project-based professional services, remote managed services and managed hosting services to over 3,500 customers on a nationwide basis. FusionStorm also leverages SharePoint technologies for our internal Intranet and Extranet that is used company-wide.
The position of Microsoft SharePoint Architect/Administrator will be responsible for architecting, installing, optimizing and supporting Microsoft SharePoint deployments for both FusionStorm Customers.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities:
Assist in translating business requirements and end user needs into solutions that can be delivered using Microsoft SharePoint or complimentary Microsoft products.
Provide pre-sales support to FusionStorm customers including attending meetings and conference calls, drafting proposals and consulting with customers on best practices.
Deliver on-site or off-site implementation and consulting services for FusionStorm customers looking to implement SharePoint technologies
Act as a liaison with Microsoft in order to promote FusionStorm, enable the resale of Microsoft licenses, and obtain technical support and/or guidance as needed
Essential Education / Experience:
Deep understanding of SharePoint 2007/2010 architecture and design experience including Web Applications, Site Collections, Sites, Sub-Sites, Web Parts, Active Directory authentication, Search and integration with other Microsoft products including Exchange, Project Server, Outlook, etc.
Understanding of SharePoint architectural considerations and best practices for high-availability, clustering and disaster recovery
Essential Skills and Competencies:
Skills to install, configure, and support Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007 and SharePoint Server 2010 including distributed farm environments using an n-tier architecture
Ability to perform basic SQL Server administration including database creation, backup, and cloning
Ability to help customers determine the proper licensing structure to meet their budget and functional requirements
Demonstrated aptitude for providing exceptional customer service even when the environment becomes fast-paced and intense
Excellent troubleshooting and problem resolution skills
Must work well as a member of a team as well as independently
Experience performing upgrades from SharePoint 2007 to SharePoint 2010
Ability to work directly with both external and internal customers
Strong communication skills both written and verbal
Flexibility and ability to multi-task
Some out of town travel required (
