ABOUT THE POSITION
The Mobile Application Developer is a key role within the Mobile Services Center of Excellence (CoE) ensuring technical solutions deliver against customer business goals. This position is primarily focused on helping customers successfully implement ExactTarget Marketing Cloud's MobilePush SDK into their mobile applications for iOS and Android. These SDKs handle all of the communication to and from ExactTarget Marketing Cloud needed to register a given mobile device and receive push notifications.
The success of the Mobile Application Developer includes developing a deep understanding of the ExactTarget Marketing Cloud platform (mobile, email, social, web) and using that knowledge to create new and innovative solutions for our customers. The Mobile Application Developer's highly engaged in obtaining a customer's business and technical requirements and architecting a comprehensive solution. In addition to supporting customers, as a Mobile Application Developer you will provide guidance, validation, and expertise to other members of the Global Services organization related to MobilePush projects. This position is engaged with multiple areas of the business and works closely with product, sales, sales engineers, and support to deliver world-class mobile services. This position reports to the Global Practice Manager, Mobile Services.
This position is based in the United States preferably Indianapolis or at one of our other ExactTarget Marketing Cloud office locations in New York, San Francisco, or Bellevue. Those living outside of Indianapolis should expect periodic travel to our headquarters.
?Be a mobile solutions expert focused on helping clients utilize ExactTarget Marketing Cloud push notification and location technologies to drive business results
?Understand the ExactTarget Marketing Cloud products, REST APIs, SDKs, scripting language (AMPscript), relational data model and capabilities.
?Create, manage and present an actionable BRD/FSD (Blueprint) that aligns a customers' business needs to that of the ExactTarget Marketing Cloud Solution
?Serve as a Technical Lead on engagements with clients on the technical and business challenges related to their digital communication initiatives
?Execute advanced configuration/development of mobile solutions involving push notification and location technogies
?Provide technical consultation, validation, and troubleshooting support of mobile solutions for clients, client developers, services consultants, and partners.
?Author and execute test plans for mobile solutions and configurations
?Contribute to the advancement and scale of the Mobile Service practice by documenting solutions, creating templates, and sharing best practices via practice meetings and internal knowledge repositories.
?Work closely with global services, sales, support, and products team to support specific customer requests and escalations.
?Work closely with the Mobile Product Management and Development teams to prioritize additional product features, APIs and SDK enhancements required to implement customer solutions
?Travel to client sites for onsite discovery and solutions presentations. Not expected to exceed 25%.
?Four year college degree (Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Business, or similar degree preferred) or equivalent experience with demonstrated proficiency
?Solid understanding of Java Development and Objective C
?Experience building Application Software for Mobile Devices on iOS and/or Android
?Expert-level proficiency in developing against deployed REST APIs.
?Proficient developing SQL and experience with a RDBMS such as MySQL, Oracle, or MS SQL Server
?Experience with at least 2 client side programming languages such as .NET, JAVA, PHP, Ruby, C#, C++, Visual Basic, Python
?Familiar with systems integrations such as CRM, Content Management, POS/Commerce or web analytics preferred
?Excellent debugging and problem solving skills
?Demonstrated ability to present technical solutions in a way that customers can easily understand
?Ability to consultatively engage with customers and to quickly make complex decisions
?Truly enjoy interacting with customers to help understand and solve their problems
?Thrives in an every changing, entrepreneurial environment where you develop the process instead of operating in a pre-defined one
