Brightcove is looking for a talented Android or iOS developer to join the App Cloud team. We're a small, focused group of dedicated engineers who love working with mobile technologies. Our goal is to bring mobile development to every web developer out there with CSS3, JS and HTML5 skills. You will work with the latest devices and mobile OS's. Your responsibilities will include writing code, writing tests, solving trick problems in creative ways, and working with the team to deliver rock solid and beautiful native apps.
We are an agile team who focuses on iterative development. We love our craft and strive to deliver high quality features targeted mainly at other developers. We don't want to ship anything that we wouldn't actually use ourselves. The team enjoys lots of creative freedom and everyone is empowered to have direct impact on what we ship.
YOU
You'll be writing code. A lot of it. Often in different languages and technologies. This can range from implementing great user experiences, to optimizing complex interactions between asynchronous JavaScript calls to native code. You'll look on with pride as your tests pass, ensuring a seamless experience for our end users. Most importantly, you'll provide a fresh outlook on features, architecture, and product direction on an ongoing basis. Your ability to contribute to a technical discussion mirrors your ability to listen and learn from your peers.
You should be skilled in:
Objective-C
2+ years iOS API's
--or--
Java
2+ years Android API's
ETC.
We use some pretty cool stuff in a lot of different ways -- OCUnit, OCMock, PowerMock, JUnit, Jenkins, Git, and PivotalTracker. We encourage constant learning by sending our engineers to user conferences and providing an annual book stipend. We are also active in the developer community and host many local meet-ups.
