We?re looking for an experienced mobile user experience designer who possesses a passion for great design, a superb aesthetic sense, an exceptional eye for detail and a deep appreciation for simple solutions to complex problems. As the Mobile User Experience Designer, you will define the mobile app experience of a service that is dramatically improving the way people manage their digital lives. The ideal candidate will have experience designing successful mobile apps. They will thrive in a work environment that requires strong problem solving skills and independent self-direction, coupled with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication. You'll join a talented team obsessed with delivering the best user experience possible.
Essential Job Functions
Design interaction models and workflows
Present designs and design rationale to the product and engineering teams
Author detailed interaction specifications (e.g. wireframes and interaction diagrams)
Incorporate/transform existing product design work to deliver mobile app specifications
Collaborate with visual designers to create an integrated, branded customer experience
Work closely with product management and engineering to implement interaction designs
Assist with usability testing and other research initiatives
Required Experience and Skills:
4+ years of experience of interaction design experience
2+ years of experience designing mobile applications for iOS and Android
Knowledge of mobile user interface/interaction standards, patterns and best practices
App(s) that we can download and review that you?ve designed and/or a diverse portfolio that showcases your work
Experience working with cross-functional teams (other designers, product managers, engineers) and partially remote teams
Exceptional design skills, production value and meticulous attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with tools used for communicating designs (e.g. Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.)
Ability to give and take constructive feedback
Thorough understanding and application of contemporary user-centered design methodologies
Desired Education:
Degree in Human Computer Interaction, Usability Engineering, User Interface Design, Cognitive Psychology or equivalent related design experience
Contract position, 40 hrs/week, onsite at our offices in San Mateo, CA
