They understand the unique challenges that come with mobile interface design and have a track record of building intuitive and creative designs that rank high in usability. Leveraging the latest web frameworks and technologies such as JQuery and Bootstrap should be common practice for this candidate. They should have a strong software engineering background and interest in exploring ways of combining the many tools available to today?s software developer to create flexible and high performance user experiences.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Hands-on development and support of customer facing user interfaces specifically for mobile
Evaluation, conceptualization, design, and development of major new capabilities and implementation of new technologies
Work collaboratively with Product and Creative teams to create content that wows our customers
REQUIREMENTS
4 years of experience developing web sites
Solid understanding of cross-browser/platform issues and code solutions, as well as accessibility and SEO considerations
Work with JavaScript and JS Frameworks (like JQuery, DoJo); and work with JS micro frameworks
Knowledge and skills in object-oriented design as applied to user interface development including software design patterns particularly for JavaScript
Understanding and experience with data manipulation technologies such as web services, REST, JSON, SOAP, XSD, and XML
Experience with developing for mobile form factors and/or progressive enhancement techniques
Knowledge of web security techniques and best practices
Strong ability to translate requirements into quick prototypes for iterative user feedback
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral, written and group presentations)
BS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
NICE TO HAVE
Solid understanding of mobile UI design and best practices, application architecture principles (client-side scripting, web service tiers, database storage, caching, etc)
Experience with hybrid mobile app development experience (PhoneGap a plus)
Experience with XML technologies like XSD, XSL, XPATH
Understanding of network and wireless/wifi communication and application protocols
Understanding of mobile communication protocols
