The role of the breakfast cook is to prepare and serve daily breakfast offerings and take responsibility for all fresh and composed ingredients on the salad bar station. Working under direction of the Executive Chef and Sous Chef, weekly menus will be planned and executed on time with quality, exceptional service, and beautiful presentation in mind.

Supervise morning events and breakfast service while helping open the kitchen with a cheery demeanor and sunny disposition.
Support breakfast and lunch production through prepping, cooking and serving.
Prepare breakfast and lunch items in coordination with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef. Timely executing planned menus and re-purposing extras and leftovers into more good food.
Setup, service and breakdown of lunch stations and signage. Store and label leftovers.
Follow direction and preparation lists as outlined by kitchen management.
Clean and maintain kitchen stations in accordance with all safety and sanitation guidelines.
Work within food program ethos to produce clearly labeled menu signs, ingredient lists, recipes and nutritional info as necessary.
Maintain a clean work environment at all times.
Support dishwasher/cleaning staff as needed.
Help guests, answer questions and fulfill requests.
Skills and Qualifications:
2+ years experience in a formal kitchen environment with a passion for product and relationships. Relevant experience will be considered.
Excellent attendance and punctuality is required with schedule flexibility determined by needs.
Commitment to quality service, food and beverage knowledge.
Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills, local and seasonal ingredients and diverse cooking styles and cultures.
Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.
Flexibility and ingenuity. Willing to work with alternative approaches and overcome challenges and limitations.
Good knowledge of local products, producers and farms.
Familiarity with raw, vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, paleo and whole grain products a plus.
Basic knowledge of healthful eating and nutrition paired with a passion for healthy, comforting, traditional, unexpected, and playful food a must.
Schedule 7AM - 3:30PM
This position will spend 90% of the time standing and lifting, 10% planning menus.
Must easily be able to lift 50+ pounds.
Behaves professionally and can be a great addition to an already stellar crew who problem solves in a changing environment.
