This position reports to the Residential Credit Risk Solutions Director as a member of the Residential Credit Risk Solutions Group within the Residential Corporate Credit team. The Credit Risk Solutions Underwriter provides multiple over-flow duties and assignments for the residential lending division.
Serve as a dedicated underwriter to provide support for multiple corporate credit tasks to include:
? Underwrites files from residential production channels.
? Underwriting resource supporting internal departments for credit collateral on secondary investor guidance to clear regulatory audit findings and provide information and special reports as requested.
? Supports exception process for all EverBank business units by assisting in the review and disposition of all Residential Lending program exception requests.
? Supports a scenario desk for production channels and acts as an escalation contact for questions from production related to credit, collateral, process or policy questions.
? Conducts credit research for special projects as assigned by the Residential Credit Risk Solutions Director.
? Ensures that superior customer service is provided to include external customers and internal departments
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements):
? Must have a full working knowledge and experience in Secondary Market agency underwriting and selling guidelines to include JUMBO, FNMA, FHLMC, FHA and VA knowledge.
? Must have solid communication skills, both verbal and written.
? Extensive experience and expertise reviewing documents and assignments with a demonstrated sense of urgency in a results driven environment.
? Excellent communication skills - high touch level of service for internal and external customers.
? Must be well organized and have the ability to multi-task.
? Must be able to assess risk both inside and outside an AUS recommendation and an ability to analyze credit risk layering and provide alternative lending solutions.
? Must have the ability to evaluate non conforming loan requests and/or complex business structures, based on individual scenarios or escalation requests from the residential lending channels.
? Must have a solid foundation with complex or unique properties with the ability to assess collateral risk.
? Must have experience with credit structuring and legal aspects of lending activities.
Training and Experience:
? Must have a minimum or 6 - 8 years underwriting experience with minimum 5 years underwriting JUMBO loans or super JUMBO loans.
? Must have a working knowledge of agency automated underwriting systems.
? Must have experience manually underwriting files.
? Direct Endorsement Certification (?DE?) or VA SAR Certification a plus.
