MS Lync/Exchange Senior System Engineer/Architect Accolade

The MS Lync/Exchange Senior System Engineer/Architect is responsible for implementation, administration, support, maintenance, and monitoring of server, storage, and network systems within Accolade. This person will play an intricate part in maintaining and supporting a unified communication program including a contact center software.
Provide Microsoft Windows Server operating system support
Provide network switch and firewall support
Active Directory maintenance and support
Add/Revoke/Change file share permissions
Support electronic mail, and other corporate systems
Perform routine maintenance and administrative duties.
Perform system upgrades as assigned by management.
Plan and perform appropriate procedures, documentation, inventory assessment, and other procedures related to IT Infrastructure.
Support andor lead IT project initiatives
Implement production releases following established policies and procedures
Conduct software and hardware evaluations, provide technical analysis and implement systems to meet the company?s IT goals.
Configure, administer, manage, and maintain systems monitoring platform(s) for servers and other critical systems
Maximize system availability and performance through and proactive server monitoring and Maintenance.
Monitor and analyze system components and make recommendations regarding system performance and stability
Maintain and monitor system backup environment to ensure regular periodic system state and data backups of servers and other mission-critical data sources.
Work with team to automate management tasks, streamline processes and perform standard administration functions as needed.
Liaise with Hardware, Software, and Support vendors as necessary
Assist in procurement, installation and configuration of servers, network hardware, and peripherals.
Perform and coordinate effective installation and performance of advanced operating systems and software on servers.
Maintain system build procedural and configuration documentation
Technical Support / Troubleshooting
Collaborate with the IT department members, users and vendors to investigate operational, hardware and telecommunications problems.
Collaborate with support analysts to provide support for escalated network and server issues.
Support, monitor, test and troubleshoot hardware, Operating System, and software problems.
Carry out necessary tasks to implement solutions.
Participate in maintaining computer systems security and support corporate Information Security and Compliance efforts as necessary. Perform upgrades as assigned by management.

Education and/or Experience:
BA/BS in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience in IT and Systems support
5+ years? experience with Microsoft Windows Administration, 2003 to 2012 environment
MCSA / MCSE preferred (or equivalent experience)
Must have practical exposure to storage and data management products, Intel based servers and storage, and SANNAS technologies
Critical Skills: MS Lync and MS Exchange
Windows Server Operating Systems (2000, 2003, 2008, 2012)
Working knowledge of Windows 2003/2008 Active Directory
Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP
Knowledge of Enterprise Backup software and strategies
Knowledge of Intel-based Server Hardware (HP helpful)
Practical exposure to storage and data management technologies (SANNAS)
Working knowledge of Microsoft server technologies (FilePrint, IIS, SQL, Exchange)
Experience with Microsoft Group Policy: Software, Security, Login and logout functions
Windows Operating System Installation and Deployment technologies (WDS, RIS, SMS, SCCM)
System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), SMS
Familiarity with network infrastructure (Cisco and Extreme preferred)
Experience with Server Virtualization (VMware preferred)
Knowledge of Remote Access Technologies: Citrix (preferred), Terminal Services,VDI (helpful)
Knowledge of Operational Monitoring practices: SolarWinds NPM
An understanding of server patch management technology helpful (Windows Server Update Services ? WSUS, SCCM)
