MTS Quality Assurance Engineer - OS Virtualization SeaMicro
Candidate will be responsible for qualifying various Operating Systems and Hypervisors on our Data Center Server Solution product.Responsibilities:
Designing, automating and executing test plans for qualification of VMware, Xen, Windows and Linux on our Data Center Server Solution product.
Maintain and automate PXE infrastructure of OS installation. Maintain supported OS distribution and packages.
Documenting scripts, configurations, procedures, test results, and defects.
Working closely with Product Management and Engineering in product definition phase and design phase.
Verifying that features are developed as per the specification.
Working with Engineering to debug defects reported during in-house release testing and verifying the fix.
Qualifications:
Mastery in internals of Xen, KVM, Windows Hyper-V or VMware ESXi is a must.
Experience with qualification of various flavors of Linux/BSD ? RHEL, CentOS, Debian, FreeBSD, etc. on a server product
Experience building servers utilizing PXE ? Jumpstart (Solaris), Kickstart (RHEL, CentOS), and Preseed (Debian), Windows Deployment Services.
Experience testing device drivers and/or Linux kernel.
Experience in Quality Assurance of BIOS, Storage, and Network and Serial Interface sub-systems on server hardware.
Familiarity with Linux Test Tools ? LTP, IOZone, XDD, Netperf, Httperf, etc.
Familiarity with System Admin tasks on servers
Familiarity with LAMP, Apache, PHP, MySQL, Java, Tomcat, and Ruby on Rails.
Experience testing HP, Dell or IBM blade hardware is a plus.
Experience in the NAS/SAN Storage Environment is a plus.
Industry certification a plus
Must be able to automate test cases using a common scripting language/tool e.g. Tcl/Expect, Perl, Python.
2-4 years of experience with a BS degree in CS, EE, or Computer Engineering or 1-2 years of experience with MS degree in CS, EE, or Computer Engineering.
