MySQL Database Administrator Covario

We are seeking an outstanding MySQL Database Administrator to become part of our collaborative product development team producing enterprise search marketing solutions. The Covario solution is a SaaS offering based on Java and Open Source technologies. Those having comprehensive experience designing and supporting large scale High Availability production deployments are especially encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
Participate in the full software development lifecycle (requirements derivation through delivery)
Serve as a resident expert consultant to software development and IT
Production database installation, troubleshooting and release/patch updates
Design and administer database, system, object and data security models
Review proposed changes to database design to understand how changes affect physical database and operating characteristics
Maintain repository of ER database and model descriptions
Performance tuning of databases and SQL Query optimization
Backup and disaster recovery planning and execution
Actively contributing to the continuous improvement of the processes Covario uses in creating web-based applications for its clients
Understanding, researching and keeping up to date with the latest technologies
Meeting and exceeding expectations regarding schedule, features, quality and personal interactions.
Minimum Qualifications:
A 4-year degree in Computer Science or other hard science field.
Strong Communication skills and a desire to function in a team based environment.
Demonstrated ability to work with limited supervision.
5+ years DBA or product development experience with MySQL
Strong knowledge of database design and performance tuning for high volume, large scale (terabytes) OLTP applications
Experience in the design and support of High Availability configurations (clustering, replication, etc.)
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team to build complex software applications.
Capacity for positive and effective interactions with employees at all levels within the organization, as well as with customers, prospects and vendors.
Solid knowledge of the linux operating system plus scripting skills
The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic and superior organizational skills.
Preferred Experience (not required):
Verifiable commercial success with large and complex High Availability MySQL installs
Experience with Business Intelligence systems and specifically knowledge of Microsoft Analysis Services
Experience supporting applications applying Object Relational mapping (Hibernate, Toplink, etc.)
Exposure to Agile development methodologies, ideally SCRUM.
