MySQL DBA - Production Engineer Marin Software

As we continue to expand, we are currently looking for a Production Engineer with strong MySQL DBA skills. An ideal team member will push our product offering forward by constantly identifying, quantifying, and tweaking configurations, queries, and indexes to maximize application performance.
Responsibilities:
Be accountable for systems-level performance in a distributed database and SOA environment.
Tune and debug high performance, high availability application, OLAP, and database servers (MySQL 5.0+ and Java 1.5)
Create and ensure integrity of multiple replicas through statement and row based replication.
Help developers design efficient schemas, SQL statements, and indexes.
Be available outside of business hours for inevitable, albeit infrequent production issues.
Minimum Requirements:
4+ years hands-on experience with MySQL (Oracle a plus), with detailed understanding of DB internals: engines, query plans, join mechanisms, and optimizer.
At least 2 years of experience with MySQL statement and row based replication
Solid UNIX administration skills, with proficiency in multiple scripting languages.
Extremely honed problem-solving and debugging ability.
Self-driven urgency to complete projects on time and with high quality.
Open communicator that prefers the bullpen to an isolated office.
Familiarity with:
Service-Oriented Architectures (SOA, SOAP, Axis, JMS)
Tomcat and Java 1.5 tuning parameters and garbage collection strategies
Multithreading applications on a multi-processor, multi-core architecture
I/O optimization (RAID 5/10) and storage administration (iSCSI)
Educational background in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering mandatory.
Compensation:
Salary and options are commensurate with experience, but very competitive (top 10 of salary.com regional search). We are blocks from BART, Muni, ferries, and easily accessible from CalTrain. Full-time, local hires preferred.
