This is a jumior level position requiring 1 to 2 years of experience.
NetProspex is recruiting for a Junior MySQL DBA. We are growing extremely fast and we continue to offer an opportunity for technical professionals to work with cutting edge technologies. A junior MySQL DBA is needed to join a growing team in Waltham MA. This position reports to the IT Manager.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
? Junior MySQL DBA with 1+ years of experience with MySQL 5.0 or greater.
? Knowledge of MySQL storage engines, database replication, and backup/restore operations.
? Database troubleshooting and the ability to rapidly and accurately diagnose unexpected database performance & replication issues.
? Linux knowledge as it pertains to MySQL databases, server performance, backups and security.
? Fundamental network concepts.
? Basic shell scripting.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Work closely with the senior DBA, IT manager and users to manage, upgrade and support the MySQL database.
? Provide daily support as well as on-call support for MySQL environment, migrations, upgrades and replication, including database definition, structure, documentation.
? Ensure a stable and secure database environment.
? Apply database management and maintenance skills.
? Design, implement, and monitor database functionality to ensure stable environment.
? Working with the data architect, specify and implement the logical and physical database design and layout.
? Effectively work and operate within an agile team based environment.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
? MySQL 5.5 or 5.6
? Experience with PHP as it pertains to MySQL.
? Experience with MySQL stored routines.
