The National Account Manager will work cooperatively with the Director of Sales and other organizational members to grow existing retail accounts and to improve satisfaction expectations and monthly sales plans at appropriate gross margins. The NAM will have direct selling responsibility with key retailers. The NAM is responsible to monitor/analyze sales activity/data both internally and in the market to fully understand consumer demand dynamics. The NAM organizes information to assist sales and category management for customer presentations while actively participating in the sales process.
Examples of Typical Activities:
Meet with buyers on a regular basis to manage products, introduce new items and set promotional strategy
Create a 12 month business plan to meet customer and internal financial plan targets
Communicate unexpected increases or decreases in demand for products with Supply Chain
Coordinate and execute Line Reviews for all product categories
Assist in managing in stock levels
Item set up and item maintenance
Provide competitive information and assist in preparing line logic updates
Analyze market data and assist in developing strategic plans to grow account revenue and improve profitability
Assist in promotional evaluations ? benchmark data
Fill requests for information or samples
Work closely with internal cross-functional teams
Collaborate with Marketing and Product Management
Travel as required to meet with internal and external contacts
BA/ BS Degree and a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in sales or analytical sales support positions
Consumer Products Goods category experience preferred but not required
Required Technical Competencies
Proficient with MS Office Suite
Strong Microsoft Excel ? spread sheet and data base applications
Knowledge of customer POS Software systems
Excellent verbal, writing and presentation communication skills
Selling/ Negotiation Skills
