National Sales Director Avalara

Avalara is looking for a National Sales Director to lead one of our sales team, based in Seattle, WA. Reporting to the VP of Sales, this individual will draw on their sales success and management expertise to sustain the teams current success and execute a strategy for continuing to improve the groups performance including the use of teaching, mentoring and coaching methods as well as recruiting new members for the team.
Operating as part of a team, our Regional Sales Managers are responsible for selling Avalaras sales and use tax solutions and working with our partners to promote and increase sales to their customers.
Set the strategic direction of Avalara's ERP business by thinking creatively and innovatively about how to achieve the best results possible from an individual, team and/or company perspective
Demonstrate high levels of professionalism, leadership and situational and strategic basis sales expertise
Inspire, motivate and manage team members and take a solution driven approach to problem solving in order to consistently achieve and exceed monthly and annual deal volume, revenue and attachment rate targets
Continually reassess and, if necessary realign the teams strategy to optimize performance Maintain and develop strong cross-functional relationships across our organization as well as with our partners
Model a strong sense of ethics and the adaptability and versatility required to be successful in a dynamic business environment
Experience and Skills:
10+ total years&rsquo: of progressive sales experience and a minimum of 3 years of sales management experience with demonstrable success
Demonstrated experience with Solution Selling
Track record of successfully building and sustaining relationships with clients (whether end users and/or channel partners) in a business solutions, software sales role
A deep and broad network of strong customer and partner relationships that can be leveraged, ideally including existing relationships with ERP, E-Commerce, M-Commerce and POS platform customers
A masterful approach to the entire sales process, to products and processes and to sales management
A relevant Bachelors degree, MBA preferred
Familiarity with Salesforce.com preferred
Specialized knowledge of compliance services, including sales and use tax calculation, exemption certificate management, filing and remittance, and a broad array of related services would be advantageous
