Purpose of this Position
The position has responsibility for developing and executing the SMB sales strategy for the organization and managing towards a goal of profitable revenue growth. This strategy will be built in conjunction with the overall goals of the Zipcar for Business segment so as to enhance Zipcar?s profitability.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of outstanding leadership and possess sales leadership competencies - driving change through innovation, influencing decisions and actions, promoting teamwork, placing organizational success above individual goal, recognizing new business opportunities and focus on the ?big picture? while managing the detail around account and territory management.
Lead and manage the activities of the Zipcar for Business Sales Team currently consisting of 7 Account Executives, 1 Inside Sales Supervisor, 11 Inside Sales Representatives and 2 Account Managers.
Day-to-day responsibilities will vary, and are not represented in their entirety:
Leading a best-in-class sales team, using value selling best practices and performance metrics.
Collaborate with Category Director in implementing strategic sales plans to achieve revenue goals for new and existing business accounts.
Plan and implement ongoing targeted prospecting strategies in order to create new sales pipeline and revenue
Driving change and innovation, challenging the team on how we do business.
Manage, recruit, train, develop, and coach Account Executive and Inside Sales teams.
Develop monthly and quarterly sales goals for Inside Sales and Account Executives and work with each representative to attain those goals.
Develop and publish performance metrics to ensure operational excellence
Provide constant feedback and analytics to Marketing, Senior Management, and Product Development
Identify all technical issues of assigned accounts to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process and be able to establish and maintain strong relationships.
5+ years experience in Inside and Outside Sales Operations with proven success.
2-3 years experience managing a B2B sales team.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Experience in leading and driving change.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and CRM Administration
Consistent achievement of forecasted revenue targets.
Strong analytical, problem solving and leadership skills.
