Network and Desktop Administrator QD Vision
Primary Responsibility
The primary responsibility of the Network and Desktop Administrator will be to maintain and support the current growing network infrastructure to meet the daily needs of the business. Tasks include but not limited to:
End user system support (workstation and laptop) for internal/external employees
Support and troubleshoot network connectivity issues
Build and configure workstation roll outs for both users and projects based upon QD Vision system configurations
Setup/configure VOIP phone units for end users
Provide system support for lab equipment
Available for "on call" schedule providing support for internal and remote end users
Application support for end users (including Microsoft Office, ERP connectivity, SolidWorks/JMP and Lab View)
Ability to interact and work with both internal and external business partners to support infrastructure and contribute to the strategy for the IT organization along with daily IT related tasks
Qualifications
Qualified candidates should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to interact with users within all levels of the organization. Ideally, the candidate will have a Bachelor Degree and 3-5+ years of Systems Administrator/Manager experience in a hands-on capacity.
Experience with the following systems is essential:
Network Administration in a similar sized organization
Hands-on familiarity with VMWare; setup; administration; use would be beneficial
Strong Windows knowledge (XP, Windows 7 Desktop support)
Hands-on familiarity with Exchange 2010 Standard and/or hosted email environments
Experience migrating to outsourced exchange services would be desirable
Microsoft Office Products (2007,2010) Word; PowerPoint; Excel; others
Cisco VOIP system/call manager configurations
Experience with networks; security; device management
Cisco-managed switches and point-to-point VPN connections between sites
Hands-on familiarity with NT and Windows Active Directory (Windows 2003/2008 Servers running Active Directory)
Copier/Printer/Scanners, Mobile Phones
Appropriate Industry certifications preferred (MCSE, MSTS, MCITP, CCNA)
Experience working within a distributed environment both physically and organizationally
Strong documentation skills
Would like our environments technically documented
