Network and Systems Administrator Clearspring Technologies

Clearspring runs a sophisticated, large-scale infrastructure that is touched by more than a billion end users and more than 10 million domains each month. We are looking for Systems and Networking Gurus to help us maintain and expand our 24x365 service-oriented computing environment. This role includes distributed computing infrastructure design and configuration as well as participation in software releases, on-call rotation, and support. This is a chance to play in a large operational sandbox, and work in a highly effective technical team.

Primary Responsibilities:
-Write, Maintain, Deploy complex host configuration and alerting scripts.
-Identify and resolve network, system, service and other performance issues.
-Create or update documentation including network diagrams, procedures, and policies.
-Help keep the users of the system happy. Usually this requires minimizing the cause of alerts.
-On occasion, all of this fun is done on call at the mercy of the alerting systems.
Required Skills/Experience:
-Expertise with the inner workings of server hardware. Occasional hands-on builds/rebuilds are necessary.
-Expertise configuring/managing IPV4 networks:
- routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VLANs, VPNs, BGP
-Expertise configuring/managing Linux Systems:
-RHEL 5 or CentOS 5, DNS, SMTP, Apache, MySQL, PHP, LDAP, CMS, Monitoring Systems
-Proven experience in a demanding service oriented, computing environment
-Proven experience scripting to automate tasks using one or more of the following: Bash, Perl, Python, PHP
-Proven ability to work well in team environment
-Proven ability to multitask and juggle multiple critical issues
-Proven ability to quickly adapt to change
-Expertise diagnosing complex application, system and network issues is preferred
-Expertise troubleshooting network, server, application issues is preferred
-Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
