Overview:
Communispace Corporation is looking for a Senior Network Engineer to oversee the day-to-day operations of its LAN/WAN environment. The successful candidate will have at least 7 years of experience managing Cisco networking technology in a Data Center environment. S/he will have participated in a 24x7 operation and understand the need to respond to critical issues as business needs dictate.
This role requires the ability to be technical, proactive, and communicative.
As a Senior Network Engineer, this person will implement and manage some of the most important technologies in our organization. These include the Cisco Call Manager, Call Manager Express & Unity, autonomous AP and controller-based WLANs, Catalyst and Nexus-based switches, voice and Internet routers running BGP and OSPF, ASA firewalls, Tandberg Video conferencing systems, and MDS fiber switches. Your role demands expertise in (most of) these areas but your mission is to institute process and procedures that make them run smoothly and as efficiently as possible. Your group is expected to ?own? these systems and be responsible for all aspects of their upkeep and operation.

You have mastered a number of networking technologies and feel confident working in all of them. You may not have all of the answers at all times, but you are the type of person who can get them. You understand that you are responsible for a critical system and can provide solutions for a wide array of business challenges. You are good at anticipating future needs and design with best practices and scalability in mind. You have experience supporting remote sites, creating a plan for out-of-band management, and feel comfortable traveling as required. You are team-focused and enjoy sharing ideas and feel comfortable being the ?go-to? person for all network system issues. You feel a sense of pride in all work that you do.
Specific Responsibilities:
Monitor all network devices for problems and for ongoing performance information.
Support the Support Desk staff in all end-user facing technologies: wireless, VPN, telecom, etc.
Troubleshooting networking issues at the operating system, windows/UNIX services, network application level.
Responsible for testing and installing system modifications and upgrades such as hot fixes and patches.
Add capacity to any network component that is needed in support of company growth.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, storage and network issues as they arise.
Run Capacity and Performance Reports and carries out analysis of the network capacity and performance.
Responsible for ongoing support for Business Continuity and High Availability.
Recommend changes to procedures which result in operational optimization.
Participate in Root Cause Analysis reviews when applicable.
Rotational 24x7 On-Call Support.
Define, document and execute complex infrastructure projects.
Required Skills:
CCNP-level certification or can demonstrate equivalent knowledge and experience.
Strong knowledge of maintaining applications on Linux and Windows 2008 servers.
A working knowledge of VMWare ESXi and Storage Area Networking technologies (iSCSI, Fibre Channel)
Superior knowledge of advanced security topics
Strong work ethic.
Education:
Bachelor?s Degree highly preferred
