Position Summary
Candidate will be a member of a team, mentored by Senior Network Engineer, responsible for a large LAN/WAN/WLAN network consisting primarily of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls and access points and associated equipment from other vendors.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Installation and configuration of network equipment from Cisco and other vendors
Network management and troubleshooting with various tools including: SolarWinds Orion NPM, NTA, APM, UDT, NCM, Network analysis and other network management tools.
Analysis and triage skills to perform network troubleshooting.
Identify and resolve complex network problems, during extreme situations; providing resolution and process conformity documentation.
Project participation, including independent and group efforts.
Creating and maintaining network diagrams and documentation based on worked performed through discovery and maintenance.
Communicate configuration changes / installations with fellow teammates, customers, business units, and technology leadership.
Experience & Skills Required
CCNA required
5+ years LAN/WAN experience configuring routers and switches
Experience with chassis based Cisco switches and routers required
Experience with support of Cisco CUCM desired
Experience with F5 load balancers and security appliances desired
Experience with CISCO ACS, FWSM, and ASA via CLI desired
Experience with IPSEC connectivity desired
Thorough understanding of Layer 2 protocols and Layer 3 routing protocols including multicast, OSPF, and BGP
Excellent troubleshooting skills
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
Financial industry experienced required
Market data and execution connectivity required
Must be flexible with schedule (weekend and overnight work required) and participate in on-call rotation
4 year degree or equivalent work experience required
