Position Summary
Candidate will be the senior member of RJO?s Global Networking team. The position will mentor all Network Engineers will assume responsibility of the global networking infrastructure.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Subject matter expert for all network related items
Design and deliver high-availability networking solutions
Installation and configuration of network equipment from Cisco and other vendors
Network management and troubleshooting with various tools including: SolarWinds Orion NPM, NTA, APM, UDT, NCM, Network analysis and other network management tools.
Expert analysis and triage skills to perform network troubleshooting.
Identify and resolve complex network problems, during extreme situations; providing resolution and process conformity documentation.
Coordination of projects from inception through completion, including independent and group efforts.
Developing network designs derived from personally acquiring user and or business requirements.
Creating and maintaining network diagrams and documentation.
Configuring network equipment full implementation follow-through and documentation
Coordinate with Customers, business units, and technology leadership with planning, developing, and implementing solutions.
Team Leads' elevated responsibilities include:
Day-to-day activities & issue investigation, initial point of escalation
Workload and scheduling responsibility / delegation for area(s) of responsibility
Technical reviews for accomplishments and consistency
Single point of contact for given ?technical discipline?, functions as delegate for VP
Performance management and analysis input requested; however formal employee review and compensations discussions managed by VP & CIO
Experiences and Skills required:
Must posses Cisco certifications.
10+ years LAN/WAN experience in a Cisco environment required
5+years Financial Networking experience, focus on high availability designs, required
Expert network design / architecture skills
Visio documentation expert
Cable plant management and design
Experience with F5 load balancers and security appliances desired
IPAM and DNS expertise required
Expert hands on experience with CISCO ACS, FWSM, and ASA via CLI required
Expert knowledge and hands on experience with complex routing protocols; comingling multicast, OSPF, MPLS and BGP required
Experience with deployment and support of CISO CUCM on a global network
Experience with VOIP standards, manufacturer interoperability and QOS required
Experience supporting mission critical complex financial computing infrastructure
Traffic / NETFLOW engineering skills required
Experience with and knowledge of datacenter design, development, and implementation required
Must be available 24/7 and participate in on-call rotation
Must posses strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
4 year degree or equivalent work experience required
