Responsibilities:
- New equipment and environment installation.
- Establishes partner connectivity by installation/setup of new circuit, IPSec tunnel, defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.
- Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with network architect on network optimization.
- Secures network system by establishing and enforcing policies; ensuring compliance of all active network equipment.
- Accomplishes information systems and organization goal by completing related results as needed.
- Reporting network operational status by gathering, analyzing and publishing network statistics.
Skills Required:
- - Administration of network devices like - Cisco L2/L3 Switches, Routers, Firewall(ASA, Checkpoint, Juniper), Load Balancers
- - Administration, Monitoring of LAN / WAN / IPSec VPN
- - Managing Access Control List
- - Administration Linux Network Services â€" DNS, Mail, Proxy
- - Concept of VLAN
- - Concept of IP Routing Protocols
- - Strong in fundamentals of TCP/IP protocol suites
- - Day-to-day troubleshooting network issues
- - Concept of other network/security protocols like SSL, SSH, FTP (SFTP/FTPS is added advantage), SNMP
Skills good to have:
1. - CCNP Certification
2. - Hands on skill on firewall from multiple vendors like Checkpoint, Juniper
3. - Knowledge of Industry standard Load Balancers (Citrix Netscaler, F5 BigIP)
4. - Understanding of PKI/SSL Certificate Management
5. - Strong understanding of organizational processes and procedures (ITIL Foundation preferred)
