The Network Engineer II is responsible for monitoring and maintaining systems, participates in planning capacity, performs audits and installs network equipment, and maintains configurations.WHO ARE YOU?
You have several years of hands-on work with Cisco network hardware and IOS, particularly routers and switches
You have experience working on a carrier based multi-site MPLS network
You have several years of experience working with telephone carriers (like Verizon) in ordering new service(s) and getting help on problems or issues
You have experience with a variety of network monitoring tools or solutions
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
5-10 years previous experience network monitoring/maintenance Cisco network hardware specifically
4-6 years of previous experience in network design (LANs, WANs, VLANs, IP configuration)
Experience working with MPLS networks (carrier based)
Experience working with larger telecommunication carriers (like Verizon)
Experience planning off hours maintenance schedules and planning needed maintenance work to minimize network downtime
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
