Looking for a Network Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Network Infrastructure, VSAT technology, Routing & Switching, VOIP, and/or Wireless/telecommunications technologies.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Test, standardize, and document network designs that can be repeated and supported by the Operations and Network Operations Center teams
Must be able to work under time pressure and multi-task under these conditions
Create and maintain processes, procedures, and associated documentation as needed to support new installations and existing sites
Willingness to train field personnel
Must have the ability to work effectively within a geographically distributed team
Service visits to the teleport, and data centers should be expected. Occasional travel to regional office is expected
Comply with all safety requirements implemented by employer, customers, facility owners or vendors involved in the employees daily tasks, including but not limited to PEC, H2S, Water Egress, Lock Out/Tag Out, First Aid/CPR, Lifting, Fall Protection, Climbing Techniques, etc.
Assist with ensuring that proper quality control is maintained on new installations
Work closely with Global Engineering to insure knowledge is kept current on all equipment in use as well as maintaining a global standard
Serve as technical leader and support for the local Field Engineer force and the NOC
Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
University degree in relevant technical field
CCNA or equivalent experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Secure expert skills to aid and support RigNet network which will include Call Manager, IP infrastructure, IP telephony, design and implementation MPLS network, etc.
Skills in Cisco based networks, including routing, layer 3 based switching and QoS
Routing protocols EIGRP, OSPF, BGP
LAN Switching VLAN, VTP, STP, Ether-Channel, PPP, Frame Relay
Knowledge of MPLS and Firewalling is a plus
Secure expert skills to assist with the commissioning and support of the IDIRECT & SCPC network.
Knowledge of WAN acceleration technologies including Riverbed
Willingness to satisfy customers at all cost and follow through with resolutions for trouble issues
Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Capable of working on a support schedule and covering for other team members
Minimum five (5) years hands-on experience with IP networking
Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may require occasional overnight travel and weekend and/or evening work.

Description: This position requires a moderate amount of stamina with the ability to perform the above essential job functions and within timetables. Some overtime work may be required.
Lifting: The employee must be able to lift up to 5 lbs. frequently and up to 15 lbs. occasionally for short durations.
Carrying: The employee must be able to carry up to 5 lbs. frequently and up to 15 lbs occasionally for short distances.
Pushing/Pulling: The employee must be able to push/pull up to 5 lbs. frequently and up to 15 lbs. occasionally usually from desk level to floor or floor to desk level.
Other Physical Requirements: Upper extremity usage, motor coordination, range of motion, vision, hearing and balance should be in a range to safely preclude the harm or injury to the employee in this position or the harm or injury to other employees.
Environmental Considerations: The employee will in most cases work in a central air-conditioned building; however, may be exposed to dust, fumes or gases and to changes of weather when exposed to outdoors at job sites or other locations.
