Our business and customer base is growing at an exciting and rapid pace. To further fuel this growth, we are seeking a dynamic Network Engineer to join our team.
The Network Engineer is responsible for fulfilling implementation, support, maintenance, monitoring, administration and change management responsibilities as it pertains to company and customer business workflows and systems/network integration. The Network Engineer will also efficiently troubleshoot systems/network/data problems, effectively manage issues to resolution and successfully manage service levels.
Responsible for daily operations, maintenance, and system administration of networking and data center customer issues
Daily tasks include system monitoring, alerting, customer provisioning and issue resolution
Perform installation/setup of network hardware/software as well as maintenance of related infrastructure equipment
Install network cabling, patch panels and power for cabinets
Provide technical and other ongoing support to data center customer base and data center operation staff
Responsibilities include ensuring operational tasks are completed in a timely fashion and NOC personnel are trained in rudimentary network trouble shooting skills
Work with the other groups within organization providing support when necessary
Assist in the design of customer application solutions especially where networks are involved
On-call responsibilities and the ability to work overtime are a requirement of this position
Developing and/or enhancing operational procedures or methodologies in support of the position responsibilities
Experience with data center network operations, cabling and electricity
Experience with custom cabling (data and voice) and physical network connectivity
Understanding of Windows and Linux platforms (certifications a plus)
Cisco hardware knowledge - routers and switches (certifications a plus)
Solid knowledge of internet and networking technologies such as, but not limited to, TCP/IP, WINS, DNS, ARIN, Internap and Telecom providers
Associate degree in related area and/or at least 2 years experience in the field
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must possess strong and proven customer relation skills
