Position Summary:This position is responsible for planning, design, test and build-out and on-going support and upgrades of all network and security infrastructure. This position will ensure performance and availability of installed infrastructure meets the compliance standards to provide required services for internal and external users. This position will work under the direction of the Director of IT Operations.
Specific Duties:
Thoroughly understands and effectively uses vendor installed infrastructure equipment
In-depth understanding of administration techniques that deal with network infrastructure, such as bandwidth requirement, networks performance, firewall configurations, security monitoring and logging systems and administrative software tools
Maintains and monitors all hardware and software systems
Serve as an escalation point according to specific subject matter expertise
Develops or modifies moderately complex systems; designs, builds, tests, debugs and documents
Analyzes system data and interprets trends
Investigates security related incidents, reports and advises on mitigation needed
Solves complex systems management problems; uses research, analysis and technical expertise to develop creative/innovative solutions
Serves as a first-line interface to the user community within the company and external customers
Demonstrates Avectra's vision, values and principles
Conveys fundamental aspects of job through verbal and written communications
Effectively manages customer expectations and meets deadlines, or update them as they evolve
Required Skills:
Proficient with at least 4 of the following technologies
CISCO ASA, VPN
CISCO Switches and Routers
CISCO Wi-Fi and ACS
Active Directory
CISCO VoIP, Call Manager , UCCX, Unified Communications and Call Recording
SQL 2005/2008
Windows Server 2003/2008, Mail, and Messaging integration
Demonstrated Work Behaviors
Uses advanced knowledge associated with Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Begins to see relationships among and across work units
Works Competently in most phases of the systems management life cycle
Understands team's strategy and objectives
Serves as an individual contributor as well as a team member and mentors other members of the team
Makes decisions regarding own work; makes recommendations in regard to department
Articulates opinions on systems administration matters

Required Previous or Cumulative Experience:
Minimum of 4-6 years of directly related network administration experience in a large corporate or hosting environment
Required Education, Training or Certification(s):
Industry certification in at least 2 Avectra supported technologies:
VMWare, MCTS, MCITP, ITIL, Security + / CISSP, CISCO
Bachelor's degree or demonstrated industry excellence
