DescriptionGeneral Responsibilities:
The Network Engineer is responsible to manage the global network infrastructure which includes: architecting, implementing and supporting solutions using the latest networking technologies. This role is also responsible to take the lead for ensuring that network connectivity is operational and performance meets the needs of the business. The Network Engineer is responsible to stay updated on the latest software and technology options and to make recommendations for implementation to further enhance the technological environment at Evenflo. The Network Engineer is required to be on call 24/7 and may occasionally be required to travel.
Examples of Typical Activities:
Architect hardware and software solutions based on new technologies
Install, configure, deploy, monitor, tune and troubleshoot all networking components
Maintain security of the network
Back up network hardware configurations
Update network hardware configurations
Perform system and network monitoring
Document new systems and procedures
Required Experience
BS Degree preferred
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Certification
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
Required Technical Competencies
Experience designing and implementing solutions using Cisco network equipment
Experience troubleshooting complex problems in a Cisco network environment
Proficient in TCP/IP networking protocol
Strong background in internetworking/LAN/MAN/WAN data communications
Strong background with Cisco firewalls, routers, switches, access points and VPN concentrators
Experience implementing and supporting Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS)
Experience implementing and supporting virtual private networks (VPN)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Project Management skills
Desired Secondary Competencies
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
Back up Systems Engineer with the following:
Microsoft Active Directory
Microsoft Exchange/Outlook Web Access (OWA)
VMWare and HP Storage
Update Servers
Understanding of anti-virus applications
Knowledge of e-mail and web content filtering applications
