Our Operations Team, responsible for the 24x7x365 upkeep of the servers that keep our 25+ million users happy and stumbling, is looking for a solid Network Engineer to help supplement our team. You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills -- we expect you to be part of the greater company, not just hang out at your desk.
We are looking for someone to help us keep our production network environment up and running, and keep our users happily stumbling.
Responsibilities:
Design, deploy and implement the StumbleUpon production and corporate networks
Work closely with Ops and Site Reliability teams to ensure continuous upkeep and efficiency of the network
Manage public and private peering relationships
Act as the primary liaison with ISPs for any BGP or traffic issues
Interact with vendors to troubleshoot hardware issues
Provision and configure LAN/WAN transport circuits
Requirements:
Experience with BGP, OSPF, IS-IS
Network Engineering experience in a production or data center environment
Experience supporting network / traffic policy
Familiarity with OpenBSD and Linux packet filtering and networking stack
Experience working with major Internet Exchange points
Experience with NetFlow/sFlow/pFlow based network flow collection and related analytics products
In depth knowledge of standard Internet protocols (IP, TCP, UDP, HTTP, VRRP)
Experience with Linux and network load balancers
Strong scripting skills with Python
Preferable
Experience with Arista or Cisco Network equipment
ISP or IX experience as a NetEng.
Experience with network security and VPN is a plus
