The Network Engineer is a member of WideOrbit?s Technical Solutions team, and will be responsible for the management of network and server systems used by our employees and will also provide certain technical services to our customers. We support employees at five offices plus many staff who work from home or on the road. Our external customers include IT departments and end users.
Other responsibilities include:
Manage and document our corporate network. The network includes two high-availability data centers.
Insure that we meet Service Level Agreements for our hosted clients
Oversee network security
Configure, deploy and support WAN/LAN routers and switches, including MPLS, site-to-site, VOIP, and data center environments
Monitor our network and troubleshoot issues using network diagnostic tools
Assist in Active Directory, Exchange, and tape backup administration
Assist with management of our corporate phone system (Avaya)
Assist with customer-facing cases (installation and troubleshooting of WideOrbit software products) as schedule allows
Five years of IT-related experience required
Minimum of three years in networking with Cisco devices
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, OSI model, IPSec, site-to-site VPNs and Remote Access VPNs
Experience in designing and supporting highly available data centers
Expertise in and hands-on experience with Cisco Routers, PIX Firewalls and Catalyst switches
Experience in BGP, Spanning tree, OSPF, EIGRP.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with Active Directory and Exchange administration
Familiarity with different operating systems including Windows, UNIX, Linux
Familiarity with Microsoft SQL
Familiarity with Symantec Backup Exec
Experience with VOIP
Experience with Avaya phone systems preferred
This position will be based in San Francisco
