Overview:
This role will provide enterprise-wide monitoring and support services in a 24x7x365 Operations Center.
Manage and develop procedural, reporting and resource tools to ensure service level agreements and deliverables are met as contractually required.
Manage client expectations within an executive management environment. The ability to provide verbal and written communication within a short limited window in a concise and accurate format.
Manage a large team of highly?skilled technicians including administrate duties such as accurate time sheets, monitoring task order costs, performance reviews, and the ability to manage the team?s performance through HR tools when necessary such as performance improvement plans.
Responsible for providing Sr. Level support on technical issues that may arise and the ability to effectively delegate to the staff.
Scheduling a large team to ensure proper coverage for a 24x7x365 operations.
Technical understanding of the infrastructure supported to include: servers, storage, network devices, i.e. routers/switches, and system applications and databases.
Monitor, evaluate, and maintain systems and procedures to safeguard internal information systems and databases from unauthorized users.
Interact with clients to receive requests, request clarifications, triage, troubleshoot and resolve Network Security issues.
Provide root cause analysis complete with timeline.
Monitor and analyze logs and alerts from a variety of tools (Splunk, Opsview, etc.).
Adhere to established internal procedures and guidelines and the ability to document using ITIL and ISO compliant formats.
Provide guidance and assistance to team and act as an escalation point on complex technical issues.
Develop, mentor and train staff; seek to improve processes and procedures with the goal of improving services
Generate reports for management in regards to service availability, uptime, and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures and SLAs etc.
Responsibilities:
Experience with IP switched/router/based networks.
Working knowledge of network commands and tools such as Traceroute, Nslookup, TCPDump, and Wireshark.
Experience with Splunk, SiteScope, Opsview, Orion, and Service Now preferred, equivalents required.
Working knowledge of Unix/Linux, Windows 2003/2008, and Cisco technologies required.
Training and Certifications:
Bachelor?s Degree in Computer Science preferred.
ITIL V2 or V3 foundations preferred.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 8 years of experience in an Operations Center or working in an IT setting in a Senior or Lead role.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in managing a team of 10 people or more.
Previous large enterprise monitoring and management experience.
Must be a self-starter with the ability to provide expert systems monitoring, management, and forensics with little or no direct supervision.
Strong communication skills - written and verbal. The ability to organize and clearly present weekly, monthly and overall data trends using all resources provided.
Excellent problem solving and decision making skills required.
Ability to work flexible schedule with on call responsibilities.
