MINDBODY is hiring a Network Operations Center Manager. You?ll be the first responder for our critical issues while also hiring, training, and supervising our expanding NOC team!
You?ll develop NOC procedures and policy that lends to the overall mission of system maintenance, monitoring and management. Using industry standards, ITIL and other guideline documents, you?ll establish and manage to a set of Key Performance Indicators to insure that we maintain standards within established SLA?s.
Since MINDBODY is a Software as a Service (SaaS) company, the Network Operations Center (NOC) Manager is responsible for 24x7 monitoring of our global hosted call center infrastructure within our data centers. The infrastructure consists of Windows servers, IP networking equipment, firewalls, virtual machines, SAN and database servers. The NOC Manager will be responsible for level-1 response management of alerts and escalations, including research, troubleshooting, and resolution.
Minimum of five years managing an Operations Center (NOC) or Web Operations team.
AA/BA/BS in management or information technology preferred or Bachelor?s degree in a Computer Science, Computer Technology, related technical discipline, or equivalent professional technical experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role
Industry recognized IT Service Management (ITIL, MOF, COBIT, etc.) required
Project Management (PMP, PMI, etc.) certification preferred
Knowledge of various network protocols (especially TCP/IP) and the tools used to test communications on these protocols

Ensure that all systems are monitored and managed
Hire, supervise and develop NOC administrators
Assist the Engineering staff in the performance of their routine duties to include system administration duties, job runs, and system health and welfare maintenance
Participate in strategic network planning, tactical operation planning, and the development of contingency operation plans to ensure Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery
Excellent and positive communications skills when working with customers and employees
Proven leadership capabilities including the skill to develop and motivate others
Oversee day to day NOC Operations, escalations, ticketing and communications with customers (internal & external)
Ensure the NOC goes beyond what is required as defined by SLAs
Further develop process and procedures within the NOC
Update and maintain documentation associated with processes and procedures
Continuously improve and develop systems to proactively monitor the applications, servers and network
Develop a training program to acquaint new NOC team members with the customer?s environment
Manage the troubleshooting of major issues with NOC monitoring tools and upon restoration, follow up on root causes. Coordinate RFO and PM documentation.
Manage and coordinate monthly maintenance as scheduled.
The ability to work extended hours under considerable pressure, as necessary.
THE DETAILED REQUIREMENTS:
Demonstrated understanding of system design and operations
Organized, capable of delegation and supervision
Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Deep understanding of NOC operations
Experience designing, implementing and managing system tools that display system information and system health status
Able to lead a team
Demonstrated critical thinking that allows him/her to conduct system and root cause analysis
Effective communicator, both oral and written
Able to assist the engineering team with general engineering tasks
Has an understanding of, and ability to create procedures and policies that lend to the overall performance of the systems
Must be able to lift over 40 lbs. Must perform occasional data center tasks to include racking equipment, configuring technology hardware, cable plant maintenance, etc. Must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule that includes night, weekends, and holidays as required.
SCOPE OF SUPERVISION/AUTHORITY:
Responsible to hire, train, manage, supervise and evaluate Operations Center Specialists. Reports to the Director of IT Operations.
This position is a management professional position. Responsibilities are performed with supervision from the Director of IT Operations. Decision-making authority encompasses management level decisions regarding program coordination as directed by supervisor. May make decisions regarding expenditures within budgetary and policy limits. Decisions regarding changes in company policy or procedure must be deferred to supervisor, although recommendations may be made.
