Network Security Engineer Virtustream
POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Network Security Engineer will be a member of the Global Network Engineering team, is responsible for the implementation and support of Virtustream global service provider data centers and IP network.
The candidate will be responsible for network security operations tasks in a global service provider environment. Tasks include design and implementation of firewall/ policies and security infrastructure monitoring.
The candidate will also provide tier 1 technical support for Network Security issues and work closely with other Operations teams on service troubleshooting and restoration.
Additional responsibilities include implementation, deployment, and support of Virtustream Data Centers and Cloud Computing products with emphasis on data center switching from leading vendors, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), and load balancers.
The position will also work with external vendors for solution evaluation and customization. The individual will provide Provisioning and Operations support for trouble resolution and critical maintenance windows.
The successful candidate will participate in developing network architecture and design standards, network diagrams and technical design documents.
QUALIFICATIONS - KNOWLEDGE - SKILLS:
The successful candidate will have the following:
B.S. (or equivalent) in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
Must be able to go through Federal background check
The successful candidate will have experience in many or all of the following:
At least two years of engineering experience in data communications
Knowledge of Service Provider design and operation
Expert-level with firewall technologies (Transparent and Routed)
Expert-level with IPSEC and VPN technologies (DMVPN, RRI)
Expert-level troubleshooting and debugging skills
Experience with leading manufactures of local and global load balancing devices
Experience in TCP/IP and routing protocols (BGP,OSPF, RIP)
Experience in switching platforms and Ethernet technologies Extensive hands-on experience with the configuration of routers and switches
Experience in vendor product evaluation (hardware, software, service provider)
Experience with NAC devices
Experience with command-line interfaces, graphical user interfaces, SNMP agents, statistical monitoring and analysis
Strong written and verbal communications skills required.
Ability to develop and document detailed lab test plans and reports, document procedures and new configurations, provide training for operations departments and other engineers, provide written troubleshooting, debugging, and problem detail to vendors
Ability to design, plan, and coordinate network maintenance and installation windows
Ability to work some weekends and to be on-call
Hardworking, focused, thorough, punctual, and proficient at multitasking
Ability to provide written and verbal presentations on technical topics to corporate peers and management
Self-motivated; Able to work independently or within a team environment, with minimum instruction from management
Microsoft Visio and standard office applications
Experience of Data Leakage Prevention and Endpoint Protection and Encryption technologies a plus
CISSP, CCNP Security, JNCIS-SEC Certification a plus

40 hours per week standard.
An out-of-hours and on-call element is mandatory. Minimal travel will be required.
