Freescale's Microcontrollers Group - MPU Team (i.MX) develops ARM processors for devices in the consumer, automotive, eReader, smart mobile devices and general embedded markets.
Join this team and contribute to software development for the i.MX processor family used in a host of cutting-edge consumer products such as the Amazon Kindle?, the Ford SYNC, Sony Reader, and so on.
Develop high quality embedded system-level software
Develop Linux device drivers (Low level) on the i.MX platforms
Provide support for key IP modules and take on learning of new IP modules as the need arises (PCIe, Ethernet AVB, USB 3.0, etc ?..)
Create and maintain requirements, design, architecture, code and tests for different parts of the product.
Support integration of drivers to Linux kernel
Support customers on all aspects of FSL Linux BSP usage both at a low level (driver) and user space levels
Interface with in-house and third party developers to integration software components
Support customers to debug issues seen on the customer?s platforms to ensure product launch.
Collateral development, demo?s, training Field Engineers and participating in public forums.
Support of customers either directly or through the FSL Service request system and FSL community
To ensure your successful performance in this role, the following work experience is a must:
Mastery of the C programming language
Embedded software development and debug experience including one of more of the following: Linux, Android, kernel modules and device drivers
Desire, willingness and motivation to continually improve and learn new things
Experience with ARM processors, the GNU toolchain and git is a plus
Familiarity with multimedia and graphics technologies is a major plus (OpenGL, 3D graphics, video decode, GStreamer)
Must have a Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science (Master's degree preferred)
