Why Start Your Career with SpaceX?
There is no better place than SpaceX for an engineer to start their career. We value new grad talent in a way that very few organizations can claim. SpaceX appreciates the energy and passion with which new talent enters the marketplace, and our success has been driven in large part by our ability to harness and apply that energy.
At SpaceX you are given significant responsibility and authority over your work, and an opportunity to contribute to the overall company mission in meaningful ways no matter how many years of experience you have. We continue to seek fresh eyes, fresh ideas, and ability to tackle problems others would see as impossible. If you are looking to begin your career and looking for an organization with audacious goals and intense passion to match your own, then SpaceX may be the right place for you.
What are we looking for in new grad talent?
When hiring new grads at SpaceX, we look for students who have a solid academic record paired with hands on engineering experience. Many of our new grads have been integral members of competition teams such as Formula SAE, held internships at top companies, led class projects, supported on campus labs, or have worked on inventive ventures in their spare time. It is this type of hands on experience that sets our new grads apart and allows them to walk in the door and make an immediate impact. No matter what their background, a common thread among all the new grads we hire is their ability to innovate, a desire to bring excellence to everything they do, and the drive to never give up until the job is done.

What happens after you apply?
At SpaceX, we accept applications to general categories for our new grad positions as oppose to having students apply for a specific job. This allows us to identify top talent quickly and figure out the best place for them in the organization based on the student's interest, experience, and current needs of the company. We ask that you please only submit one application total to SpaceX's New Graduate section into whichever category best matches your educational/engineering focus. When applying, we highly encourage you to upload additional documents that show us just how great you really are. Videos, presentations, and pictures detailing your projects and experience are all strongly encouraged.
As needs arise, we will contact you if your background and experience are a fit for what we are looking for. Due to the large amount of applications we receive, we are not able to respond back to every person that applies unfortunately. If a position opens up now or 6 months from now that you are a good match for, we will contact you at that time.
If you have not received a call within a 6-12 month window and you have acquired additional experience that you'd like to make sure is evaluated, please feel free to revise your resume and upload a new version every year.
SpaceX visits many campuses for career fairs and tech talks throughout the year, attending these events will give you access to a recruiter who can give you more personalized advice for making your job search as successful as possible.
