This is a fantastic opportunity for a junior level engineer to join a rapidly growing leading edge CPU company. Tilera is gaining traction in the market and we are adding people to the system platform team in our Silicon Valley headquarters. You will work and be mentored by outstanding senior engineers from top networking companies and help support the company's 2013 revenue goals.
The New Product Firmware Engineer will be responsible for new product release of Tilera?s systems designs implementing our leading edge many-core processor devices. Your responsibilities will be focused on taking the new systems platforms from prototype through volume production. Additionally you will function as Continuing Firmware Engineer for all of Tilera?s production products and provide technical support to Tilera?s manufacturing and sales operations, worldwide. You will be looked to for innovative ideas and their implementation.
Responsibilities include:
Oversee product transfer from prototype phase through mass production
Identify test deficiencies that cause faulty or inconsistent test results
Work with the New Product Hardware Engineer to create tests to prove fault coverage of Tilera?s board and system platforms
Analyze engineering problems and recommend solutions
Ensure designs achieve product requirements and compliance with technical standards
Host and participate in design reviews, as needed
Provide the sales, operations, and marketing groups with technical assistance
Requirements:
BSEE/BSCS or five years experience
Basic understanding of microprocessor architecture and many of its peripheral interfaces
Experience programming with C/C++
Familiarity with scripting languages like python or perl
Working knowledge of linux
Working knowledge of Window based applications like MSOffice (Word, Excel, Visio)
Broad understanding of I/O interfaces including Gbe and 10Gbe, XAUI, PCIe, UARTs, I2C, HPI, and SPI
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and multitask on several projects simultaneously.
Some travel required.
