Provide hands-on NLP technical ownership to one or more product teams by:
owning the architecture, implementation and evaluation of production-quality NLP algorithms involving both machine-learned (e.g., HMMs, FSTs, Perceptrons) and rule-based (e.g., RegEx) techniques
facilitating the self-organization of the respective product teams in implementing and evaluating those algorithms
working closely with product owners/managers and engineering executives to prioritize work at both a tactical and strategic level for those product teams
collaborating with the research and development team to assume NLP technical ownership as their efforts are spun out into product teams
interfacing with cross-department subject matter experts in linguistic data, documentation and testing
Qualifications
Doctorate or Master?s in relevant subject area (e.g., computer science, computational linguistics, machine learning, information retrieval)
9+ years professionally applying NLP / Computational Linguistics / Machine Learning, including a history of familiarity with and perhaps publication of cutting-edge research
9+ years professional programming experience in Java or C/C++
Knowledge of Python or a similar language
Excitement for elegant ideas and high-quality implementations
