Summary:247 is currently seeking out a junior-to-mid level operations engineer to work in a NOC-style environment. The candidate will join a high energy company and a team of very dedicated individuals working one of five shifts that are eight or twelve hours in length. This position combines systems (Linux, Solaris, and Windows) administration, network administration, and script writing/debugging with exposure to complex VoIP and TDM telephony networks. Primary responsibilities include maintaining uptime, preventative maintenance, change management, and incident management (including direct client/vendor coordination and escalation). Above all else, this position requires critical thinking and problem solving within a large scale production environment.
Requirements:
While individuals with unique skills that can provide a fresh perspective are always considered, candidates must display a combination of technical and social skills:
?Strong written and verbal communication skills
?At least 1 year of experience with each of the following: Unix and Windows
?Technical expertise, direct or management, with some combination of TCP/IP networking and Telephony
?Ability to multi task and maintain composure with a team in a high-stress, crisis environment
?Working experience with networking appliances such as firewall, load balancers, and proxy/cache servers
?Fast learner and ability to quickly adapt to new scenarios
?3+ years experience working in 24/7/365 production operation environment a plus
Education and Experience:
?B.E./B.S. degree in CS, CE, EE or equivalent experience
?Familiarity with storage systems (NAS, SAN)
?Relational database software (MySQL)
?Ability to write and debug shell, Perl, and PHP scripts
?Experience with Powershell and Special Administration Console
