Nursing Medical Surgery Tutor Position SMARTHINKING.com

Position Summary:

SMARTHINKING is hiring motivated individuals to serve as part-time, online tutors to support Nursing Medical Surgery. Tutors can work from any location with computer and Internet access. A Washington, D.C.-based educational organization, SMARTHINKING provides real-time, online tutoring and learning services to colleges and universities.



Responsibilities include: (i) tutoring medical-surgical nursing to BSN, RN and LPN level students, (ii) advising faculty members with materials, and (iii) assisting in the training and mentoring of new online tutors. Availability for 2 hours on Saturdays is required.



Requirements for telecommuting: access to a computer, email, and internet service (PC computer and high speed Internet preferred).



Qualifications: candidates should have at least a bachelors degree in Nursing, teaching certificate and/or advanced degree in nursing, health science, or related field. Candidates may work 2 to 8 hours per week.



The ideal candidate will have:

Masters degree in Nursing or higher.
Significant clinical experience.
College level teaching/tutoring experience in medical-surgical nursing.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to troubleshoot problems in an online environment.
Strong typing and computer skills.
