Responsibilities:
Giftango would like to add an Operations and Support Engineer to our team. We are looking for an analytical, detail oriented, smart, energetic person that can work with our team to create best in class solutions. The primary role of this Dev Ops position will be supporting day-to-day operations and taking on small product development tasks. The ideal candidate is someone that is able to work within a fun and dynamic team environment, interact with internal and external customers, and is able to prioritize tasks effectively.
Utilize our internal monitoring and analytics systems to ensure that our systems always keep up with our growing volume
Develop documentation and processes to allow others to preform your duties
Participate and Managing 24/7 on-call rotation
Maintain and (where possible) improve supportability of applications
Track and ensure known application issues reach resolution with QA and engineering
Develop tools or implement initiatives to improve uptime, maintainability, and user-facing experience
Resolve issues and requests promptly, engage the appropriate cross functional team to resolve and escalate as needed
Design and build monitoring systems, metrics, internal dashboards, and other tools that keep Giftango fast, scalable, and reliable
Ensure issues are documented once resolved
Troubleshooting problems using SQL Server to obtain information related to the issue at hand
Qualifications:
Be the type of person that is continually looking to make processes more efficient through automation
Find and exploit optimizations in our overall system architecture
Excellent communications skills, with the ability to work productively with a wide range of people
Ability to handle interruptions and task switching ? this is an operations group and things come up
Must be able to function independently at an optimum level in a non-structured environment that is constantly changing
Have a strong sense of ownership and take pride in building scalable, stable systems
Monitoring tools setup and configuration ( e.g. Splunk, PolyMon, Logly, Wily, New Relic)
Administrating appservers such as IIS7
Ability to write SQL scripts
Supporting 24/7 production web applications
Junior to mid level development skills in C# .net
Knowledge of IT environments, technologies, system infrastructure and their platforms
