At Brooklyn Brew Shop, we created and manufacture stove-top, kitchen-friendly Beer Making Kits designed to get the whole world making beer in their kitchens (no matter how big or small). Our products can be found in over 2,000 retail locations in a dozen countries.
Are you the person who can streamline operations, get costs down, move us into new territories smartly, build new systems, and expand our enthusiastic Brooklyn Brew Shop team?
Oversee all internal and external operations of a small, agile, high-growth team focused on changing the world one brewer at a time
Establish and implement policies, procedures, and standards of performance for internal systems and external vendors and services as well as streamline supply chain processes
Develop financial forecasts and budgets: frequently review historical and current sales data, production and activity reports, costs, and plan long-term financial goals for individual program budgets and Brooklyn Brew Shop as a whole
Seek out, manage, and score existing and new relationships with vendors including suppliers of parts and ingredients, production services, inventory control, international and domestic shipping, receiving, distributing and storage
Create global expansion strategy including foreign fulfillment partners, timelines, pricing, budgets and milestones
Oversee risk management including liaising with legal counsel in addressing legal issues e.g. copyright, liability, governing instruments, partnerships, licensing etc. as well as overseeing organizational insurance policies
Determine and recruit staff needed to accomplish goals and timelines for growth (both short and long term)
Develop and enact plans to reduce operations costs and increase revenues
Master and enhance effective communication between sales, marketing, production teams, and founders for all ongoing and future projects including new initiatives, product and retailer launches, continued development of CRM and ERP platforms, and the unexpected issues and opportunities that Brooklyn Brew Shop faces every day
You have a bachelors degree or above in an engineering or business discipline
You have a minimum of 3 years of experience in an operations management role; preferably at a consumer goods or food and beverage based manufacturing company
You have excellent management skills, including problem solving, team management, negotiation, and conflict resolution
You have excellent time management skills for both personal tasks and those assigned to others
You have advanced planning skills with the ability to work independently and plan the workloads and priorities of Brooklyn Brew Shop staff and the organization as a whole while developing schedules and delivering on time
You have extensive experience in supply chain management including off-site manufacturing, purchasing, inventory and production control, and logistics including shipping, receiving, distributing and storage
You have excellent analytical, numerical, and reasoning abilities as well as sound administrative and management skills and are extremely results driven
You have a fundamental understanding of generally accepted accounting practices, cost-benefit analysis, and product pricing and margins
You have an advanced working knowledge of Excel (including vLookups, Pivot Tables, and advanced formula creation), Quickbooks (or equivalent), and general computing
You have a proven ability to recruit, train and motivate a team in order to balance staffing strength with profitability and growth
You have a solid command of the needs and expectations of both direct-to-customer e-commerce and wholesale operations
You have a strong belief that troubleshooting is an opportunity rather than a burden
You are passionate about growing the Brooklyn Brew Shop brand at home and abroad

We started the Brooklyn Brew Shop out of the Brooklyn Flea in the summer of 2009 to get space-strapped New Yorkers brewing. With the idea that making beer (real beer from real ingredients) can be simple, tasty, and most important, fun, we created stylish, easy-to-use Beer Making Kits designed especially for stove-top brewing and ingredient mixes for seasonally inspired beers. Our goal is to get everyone brewing by simplifying the beer making process without dumbing it down.
Our products can be found at Whole Foods, Bed Bath & Beyond, Urban Outfitters, Nordstom, as well as at independently owned shops nation-wide and across the UK, Canada, Spain, South Africa, Austria, Denmark, Switzerland, Norway, the Netherlands, and Singapore with retailers in new countries being brought on at an ever-increasing pace.
